Marian Pavlovič - tenor

Tenor Marian Pavlovic has had a distinguised career spanning Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, and Italy. Currently based in Bratislava, he is in constant demand for his work in opera. He began his professional career in Slovakia seven years ago as a tenor, featured in such roles as Tamino in Magic Flute, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Princ Ramino in Rossini’s Cinderella, Nemorino in Donizetti’s Elixir of Love, Beppo in Pagliaccis, Oronte in Handel’s Alcina, Mazal in Janacek’s Trips of Mr. Brooks, just to name a few.

Mr. Pavlovic, who resides in Bratislava, Slovakia, has graduated at the University of Musical Arts in Bratislava in 2000 under the tutorship of prof. Mikulas, and worked with renovned artists, including Kerstin Meyer, Peter Mikulas and Sergej Kopcak. Over the course of six years, his engagements included musical concerts and performances with Capella Istropolitana, Musica Bohemica, The Symphony Orchestra of the Czech Radio and Brno Philharmonics. He has worked with prestigious conductors such as Pierre Boulez, J. Latham-Koenig, Ch Mackerras, E. zu Guttenberg, C. Richter, R. Beck, Ondrej Lenard, and Walter Kobera.

Presently, he is a guest solist at the Slovak National Theather in Bratislava and a guest perfomer in the National Theatre and the State Opera in Praque, Czech Republic.

In the season 2007/2008 his engagement included him first as Kedril in Janacek’s From the House of Death at the prestigious Wiener Festwochen Festival in Vienna, later in Amsterdam at the Holland Music Festival, and a guest appearance at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in France. In the season 2009/2010 he performed the same role in Metropolitan opera in New York and in Milano's La Scala as well. He will sing the same role in September 2011 in the State opera in Berlin/Germany. In January 2011 he also will perform in the Festival of Peter Mattei in Lulea/Sweden.
